How this discount calculator works
Savings equal list price times the discount percentage. The sale price is list price minus that savings. Only one percentage is applied. Tax, stacked coupons and shipping are omitted.
Important: Review the assumptions shown under each input. Changing one assumption can materially change the result.
When to use this calculator
- Convert a list price and a single discount percent into a sale price.
- See the dollar amount saved next to the final price.
- Apply a second discount yourself by using the first result as the next list price.

Frequently asked questions
Is sales tax included?
No. The result is the discounted price before tax unless you already included tax in the list price.
Can I stack two discounts?
Not in one step. Run the first percentage, then enter that sale price with the second rate.
How is this different from markup?
Discount reduces a selling price. Markup builds a selling price from cost.
