About Talreon
Talreon is an independent financial education website focused on practical calculators and clear explanations of common money concepts.
Our goal is to make everyday financial math easier to understand. The site provides calculators for loans, savings, investing, budgets, gold transactions, debt, and business calculations, alongside educational guides.
Talreon does not act as a bank, lender, broker, financial adviser, tax adviser, attorney, accountant, or investment manager. We do not guarantee that a calculator result will match a real product or transaction.
How we calculate
Displayed results use a $ symbol for readability. Enter amounts in any currency — the math does not convert between currencies.
Each calculator is a browser-side formula with the assumptions written next to the inputs. We distinguish a nominal annual rate (divided by payment or compounding frequency) from an effective annual rate (compounded once per year). Loan, mortgage and car-loan tools amortize monthly, round each instalment to the nearest cent, and adjust the final payment so the balance is $0.00.
What we do not model unless a field exists for it: taxes, insurance, points, origination fees, variable rates, missed payments, inflation on contributions, or investment-product rules. If a real quote differs, those omitted terms are usually why.
Editorial method
Guides are written by Talreon editorial to explain the same math the calculators use. They are educational, not a substitute for a licensed professional, and they are dated when the explanation is published or materially revised. We do not invent named "expert reviewers." Corrections can be sent to support@talreon.com.
We aim to present formulas and assumptions clearly, but users should verify important figures against current product documents and applicable rules. See the disclosure for advertising and affiliate notes.
