1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the publisher of Talreon ("Talreon," "we," "us") governing your access to and use of talreon.com (the "Site"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site.
2. Description of service
Talreon provides free, browser-based financial calculators and educational articles ("Content") intended for general informational and planning purposes. You may use the Site for personal use or internal business planning, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
3. Not financial, tax, or legal advice
Nothing on the Site constitutes financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, nor a recommendation to buy, sell, borrow, or invest. Calculator results are estimates based solely on the numbers you enter and the assumptions stated on each tool — they do not account for your complete financial situation, applicable fees, current product terms, or your jurisdiction's tax rules. Before making a financial decision with real consequences, verify assumptions against actual product documentation and consult a qualified, licensed professional.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Site. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its systems, or other users' data
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site's operation, including via scraping at a rate that degrades service, or introducing malware
- Reproduce, resell, or redistribute the Site's Content at scale without our prior written permission
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us
6. Intellectual property
The Site's design, text, guides, calculators, and underlying code are owned by Talreon or its licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view, use, and share links to the Content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the Site's Content without our prior written permission, except as permitted by applicable law (such as fair use).
7. Third-party links and services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, products, or services, including advertising and affiliate partners described in our disclosure. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that site's own terms and privacy policy.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and its Content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that calculator results will be accurate for your specific circumstances.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Talreon and its owners, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or financial loss, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site or reliance on any calculator result or Content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where a liability cap is enforceable, our total liability will not exceed RM 100, or the amount you paid us for the Site in the 12 months before the claim (the Site is currently free). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the Consumer Protection Act 1999 of Malaysia where it applies.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Talreon and its owners, employees, and partners from any claim, loss, or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may stop using the Site at any time.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Site will be resolved in the courts of Malaysia, and you consent to that jurisdiction. This does not prevent you from bringing a claim in any court that cannot be excluded by these Terms under the law of your country of residence.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will provide more prominent notice where practical.
