How to Register and Activate KWSP i-Akaun (Member): App, Kiosk and Counter
Last verified: 28 October 2026 against KWSP's member registration page and account registration article. Short answer: MyKad and MyPR holders can register and activate i-Akaun in the KWSP i-Akaun app using e-KYC (a MyKad scan, a phone code and a selfie). If that fails, use a self-service terminal (SST) at an EPF office, or register at a counter and activate with the SMS one-time password.

Who can register
KWSP says EPF registration is open to people aged 14 to below 75, covering Malaysian citizens, permanent residents, and non-Malaysian employees with a valid passport and work permit [KWSP]. App registration with e-KYC is only for MyKad and MyPR holders [KWSP]. Non-citizens use a passport-based flow in the app [KWSP guide].
