How to Check Your LHDN Tax Refund Status (Bayaran Balik) in MyTax

Last verified: 28 October 2026 against LHDN's overpaid tax page and individual FAQ. Short answer: log in to MyTax, click the Status MyTax icon and choose Bayaran Balik (refund) to see a tracking status for each year. LHDN's client charter targets refunds within 30 working days of an e-Filing submission, or 90 working days for paper returns sent by post or by hand.

Who gets a refund

If the PCB or instalments you paid are more than your final tax, the difference is overpaid tax. LHDN's FAQ says you don't need to apply separately if you filed on time, because the refund is processed automatically [FAQ Q55].

LHDN says these timelines depend on correct and complete information in the return, and on supporting documents if LHDN asks for them [LHDN].

If your refund is late

  1. Wait until the 30 or 90 working-day period has passed [LHDN].
  2. LHDN says delays can happen while it audits the return [FAQ Q56].

  4. To update bank details, LHDN lists e-Kemaskini, the Customer Feedback Form or a visit to your HASiL office [FAQ Q6].
