Superannuation Calculator (Australia)
Project your super balance from the 12% super guarantee, any salary sacrifice, an assumed return and fees, after 15% contributions tax.
Key 2026-27 figures (ATO): super guarantee 12% of earnings; concessional contributions cap $32,500 from 1 July 2026 (was $30,000); unused cap can be carried forward for up to 5 years if your total super balance was under $500,000 on the previous 30 June (ATO super guarantee, ATO concessional cap, checked 19 October 2026).
Example: on A$90,000, 12% SG is A$10,800 a year, or A$9,180 after 15% contributions tax. With a A$50,000 balance, an assumed 7% return less 0.8% fees, 2.5% raises and 30 years, the projection is about A$1,291,372 in future dollars.

Key 2026-27 figures (ATO)
- Super guarantee: 12% of earnings, the rate since 1 July 2025. From 1 July 2026, employers pay super with each payday under Payday Super.
- Concessional contributions cap: $32,500 from 1 July 2026 ($30,000 for 2024-25 and 2025-26). This covers employer contributions, salary sacrifice and personal contributions you claim as a deduction. Unused cap can be carried forward for up to 5 years if your total super balance is under $500,000.
- Contributions tax: concessional contributions are taxed at 15% in the fund, so 85% reaches your account. Higher earners may also pay Division 293 tax.
Balancenext = balance × (1 + return − fees) + contribution × 0.85
Worked example: A$90,000 salary over 30 years
On a A$90,000 salary with 12% super guarantee (A$10,800 a year, or A$9,180 after 15% tax), a A$50,000 balance, an assumed 7% return less 0.8% fees, 2.5% annual raises and 30 years, the projection is about A$1,291,372.45 in future dollars. Total concessional contributions are A$474,149.19, and A$71,122.38 of that goes in contributions tax. Returns and fees are assumptions; compare your fund's figures.
