How to check a bank or financial institution in Singapore
Use the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s live registers to check an institution, the activities it is authorised for, and individuals appointed as representatives.
MAS Financial Institutions Directory
Search institutions by name, licence type or financial activity. A company’s presence in a directory should be read together with its stated licence and the activity you plan to use.
MAS Representatives Register
For certain regulated financial activities, check the individual representatives register as well as the institution. Confirm identities and contact details independently.
Before you transfer money
- Confirm the firm’s exact legal name, licence category and permitted activity in MAS’s official directory.
- Verify that you are speaking with the real firm or representative using contact details from the firm’s official site.
- Be cautious of unsolicited messages, guaranteed high returns and requests to transfer money to personal or unrelated accounts.
- Read the product terms and understand whether the product is a deposit, investment, insurance policy or another service.
MAS warns that scammers may impersonate regulated financial institutions. If you are unsure, use the official directory and contact the institution through independently verified channels. This page links to official live sources and does not reproduce a static provider list.
